It seems like yesterday that I received the honour of being elected by the people of Birkenhead to serve them. Yet it also seems like an eternity since that December night, as a crisis of enormous proportions gripped the country.

I fully appreciate that this festive season – like other major religious festivals this year – has been severely disrupted by the terrible Covid 19 pandemic. Plans have been thrown into chaos and families are dealing with unprecedented restrictions.

However, I just want to say a massive thank you to all of you. Your support and hard work were behind my election victory. Your dedication and solidarity have helped so many vulnerable people through this crisis. And your determination will enable the Birkenhead Labour Party to move forward.

It is an honour and a privilege to serve you all, and all my constituents. A full update will follow in the new year but for now I just went to send all of you my very warmest wishes for Christmas and the New Year.
