Earlier this month, I was informed by the Department for Health and Social Care that 50,000 vaccines have been delivered in Birkenhead – making the Birkenhead vaccination team one of the highest-performing in the region.

To thank local health workers and volunteers for all their hard work, I have tabled an Early Day Motion which can be read here.

I have also visited Birkenhead Medical Building to meet with Dr Abhi Mantgani and learn more about the incredibly important work that they’re doing.

Speaking to Wirral Globe, I said:

“Birkenhead Medical Building has made the town a national leader in rolling out the lifesaving vaccine for Covid 19, injecting over 50,000 people to date.

 

The staff across the practices involved in this effort worked closely with Birkenhead’s many and diverse communities to reach the incredible target.

 

I was delighted to visit the centre in Birkenhead and meet Dr Abhi Mantgani, the clinical lead for this fantastic achievement.”
